Outdoor Electric Grills – Better Than Traditional Grills?

Just over seven months ago, my wife and I decided we were ready to finally take the leap!  No, we didn’t decide to have a baby….we decided to go shopping for outdoor electric grills!  I mean, we finally had a big backyard and wanted to start entertaining.  So we checked out charcoal grills, bbq smokers, gas grills, you name it…we researched them all. 

Well upon many days of making trips to Canadian Tire and exhausting our internet search for reviews on BBQ’s we settled on looking into outdoor electric grills and then began narrowing it down until we found one that suited us perfectly.  I know I know…it sounds like we were shopping for a baby crib or something, but truley it came to be something quite personal to us. 

The reason we decided on an outdoor electric grill was mostly due to the ease of use.  You see, my wife, Janet, isn’t that big of a cook.  In fact, she pretty much hates anything to do with the kitchen.  But for some strange reason she loves to BBQ.  But, that doesn’t mean she particularly wants to clean up all the charcoal or wood from a traditonal grill or BBQ.  So the electrical type made it easy for her to just plug in and start cooking.  Not too mention an electric grill is much easier to start.  With our old, hand me down BBQ from my parents, she was terrified of going near the thing.  To be honest, I wasn’t too thrilled about the idea either.  The coals were a pain and the clean up was a whole other story.  So with only an outlet needed near by and the flick of a switch, Janet can start cooking right away without waiting for me to get home to begin the tedious process of lighting coals or wood.
